NEW HAVEN POLICE CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE THURSDAY’S HOMICIDE

(8/22/2008) NEW HAVEN- At shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday, New Haven Police responded to 353 Poplar St in the Fair Haven section of the city on the report of a person shot inside that first floor residence. Upon arrival, medical and police personnel located the unresponsive body of an unidentified White/Hispanic male who appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. Police cordoned-off the house and street to preserve a crime scene and start their investigation into the homicide death. Detectives are continuing their investigation today. No additional information is available at this time and therefore, no media interviews regarding this incident will be entertained until further notice.
